does anyone know Euler Method?? dy/dt = f(y,t)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://www.csun.edu/~hcmth018/EuM.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thxxxx!!!! uff

OpenStudy (anonymous):

np :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was on my test

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when? i have tomorrow test on this pellet!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

last thursday

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do u know about..? i need help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just euler or improved or even worse runges kutta?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no just euler. the formula is dy/dt = f(Tn,Yn). how can i find f(Tn,Yn)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They should have given you starting point

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dy/dx= 2x+y y(0)=0 estimate y at 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh ok! give me 2 min!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dy/dt = -y+1 y(0)=0 how i slove this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they should have given you point to estimate let say at y(1) f(x_0,y_0)=y' we will do it using two steps h=0.5 given x_0=0 y_0=0 x_1= x_0+h x_1=0+0.5=.5 y_1= y_0 + f(x_0,y_0) h = 0 + 1* 0.5=.5 x_2=1 y_2= y_1 + f(x_1,y_1)h 0.5 0.5 (0.5) .75 y(1)=0.75

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here: y_1= y_0 + f(x_0,y_0) h = 0 + 1* 0.5=.5 why f(x_0, y_0) = 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x,y)= 1- y f(x_0,y_0)= 1-0 =1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so at my example: dy/dt = -y+1 y(0)=0 f(t_0, y_0) = -0+1 = 1 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok ok! thx!! r u studing maths?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you mean my major?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

electrical engineering

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kwel. i didnt know u were in college?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hm..nice! thank u btw..!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes y ask?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I check using computer and it checks out \[\left\{\{0,0\},\left\{\frac{1}{2},0.5\right\},\{1,0.75\},\left\{\frac{3}{2},0.875\right\},\{2,0.9375\},\left\{\frac{5}{2},0.96875\right\},\{3,0.984375\},\left\{\frac{7}{2},0.992188\right\},\{4,0.996094\},\left\{\frac{9}{2},0.998047\right\},\{5,0.999023\}\right.\]
