First you find the smallest number that both of the denominators multiply into. So, 8*3=24 You know that three divides into 24. 24 now becomes the lowest common denominator. Thus making the fractions 16/24 (which is 2*8 and 3*8) and 15/24 (which is 5*3 and 8*3). I hope this helps.
