i have a question... what is an example of an LCD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LCD(least common denominator) application: 1/2 +1/3=? given dissimilar fractions(different denominators), we can't directly solve it. We have to make both the denominator the same or similar. way: find LCD how? find the least number divisible by both 2 and 3. and that is 6. therefor, 3+2 5 ---- = ----; we got 3 and 2 by multiplying to 1, since 2(3)=6, then multiply 1 by 3, and since 3(2)=6, then multiply 1 by 2. . . . 6 6
