-8 + 12x - 8 + 4 -12 + 12x
for the distributive property, you have to "distribute" the 4 through everything in the parentheses. so: –8 + 4(3x – 2)+ 4 -8 + 12x -8 + 4 -12 +12x
so -24x?
it looks like this questions is just asking you to simplify what they give you. you can't combine a number with a number being multiplied by X (the 12X part). therefore, -12 + 12X is as simple as this expression gets...
