What is the rate of change of: 5x + 3y = -2. How did you find the rate of change?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just need an explanation and the answer.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

your textbook should give an adequate explanation. where is it you need help with it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

rate of change = slope, so you are asked for the slope of the line. can you find that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since slope = derivative of that function at that point.. y = (5x-2)/3 dy/dx = 5/3 So, rate of change is 5/3
