Choose the system of equations which matches the following graph: x + 2y = –10 3x + y = 12 ********* x – 2y = –10 3x + y = 12 ********** x + 2y = –10 3x – y = 12 ********** x – 2y = –10 3x – y = 12 I will attach the graph for you.. Thank you

hard to open a doc file

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1323792156913:dw| it's something like this

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well, different slopes would rule out the first and last options

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes my graph looks like that but i have to choose from the options I gave in my question and I have no idea

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ax + by = c slope = -a/b might prove useful

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x – 2y = –10 slope = 1/2 3x + y = 12 slope = -3 x + 2y = –10 slope = -1/2 3x – y = 12 slope = 3

OpenStudy (amistre64):

is the line going down hill from left to right steeper or flatter than the other?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let me see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

from left to right it is flatter than the other one

OpenStudy (amistre64):

flatter is good, and it it going down?|dw:1323792491468:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

going down

OpenStudy (amistre64):

then from a visual point of view; I would bet on the 3rd option. we have different slopes; and the flatter one is downhill

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it looks something like that.. sorry..

OpenStudy (amistre64):

option 3 is still our best bet i believe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you for your help

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good luck ;)
