typing slow
Oh dear god the font rendering is so horrible :p
let me know if you want anything else
This is the same thing I am facing from quite a few days, what I do is type and press enter and then do my other work.. the cache post the reply after sometime I noticed.
So hang on, is the actual typing slow, or does it just take a second to post?
(Or, several. Either way.)
the typing is crazy slow
typing slow is obvious and it may be caused by many other things.
Also do we really need that "x is typing a reply ... " ? This is probably doing some overhead on the server ?!
Preview is good but this one is really like IM Chat .. I don't understand why we need this in a QA site :)
We do think that's important, yes. But that's not what's causing slow typing. Slow typing is a serious problem that we need to deal with.
It's really weird that it's happening only in the one group. Thanks for letting me know though, that's valuable information.
You are welcome :)
i don't have a problem with this everyday
why would it only sometimes type slow?
thats weird to me
like earlier it was fine today
One more thing is it possible to post the latex without going in new line ?
but now for the last hour it seems to be really really really slow
yes it's \(\text{possible}\) use \.( \.) without dots
I said without dots....
Hey this should not got to the new line \( x^2 > 7 \)
cool!, I was using `$` `$` only
\[ 5x-6=4 \ (\5x=4+6) \ (\5x=10) \ (\x=2) \ \] i don't get it
there are no preview if you use \( only but if u use \( and \[ then you have preview
oh let me try again \[ 5x-6=4 \(5x=4+6 \) \(5x=10\) \(x=2\) \]
I don't get what you want to do?
Here is how it's need to be done \( \gamma = \lim_{n \rightarrow \infty } \left( \sum_{k=1}^n \frac{1}{k} - \ln(n) \right)=\int_1^\infty\left({1\over\lfloor x\rfloor}-{1\over x}\right)\,dx \)
i thought he was trying to make a new line in latex
E-M Constant \( \gamma = \lim_{n \rightarrow \infty } \left( \sum_{k=1}^n \frac{1}{k} - \ln(n) \right)=\int_1^\infty\left({1\over\lfloor x\rfloor}-{1\over x}\right)\,dx \)
he want not to make new line but post in same line if you want new line type \\
oh
New line is latex is easy .. we could use begin{} if you want to know I can show you ?
Yeah, $ is disabled on here because it could trigger too often when people don't intend it to (e.g., in a math world problem involving money).
You can also use begin/end environments without \ [ or \ ].
@shadowfiend: `$` is not disabled I guess only it works same as \.[ \.] without dots.
single $ is disabled but not $$
and \( \$ \) works!
single $ means post in same line $$ means post in new line
$it doesn't work$
$ is same as \( $$ is same as \[
aww! Hm thanks!
single $ is disabled here... but usually it works
and you need to use \( not just (
right_arrow is incorrect rightarrow is correct
delete this thread!!!! :D
YOu mean \( \large \lim \limits_{x \to \infty} e^{-x^2} \) ?
fool newline here is disabled too, but you can easily get it yourself
newline ?
$$ \large \LaTeX $$
Newlines generally don't work in raw LaTeX math environments. They only work in align or other multiline environments.
Another question re: typing slow. Does switching away from math and coming back help by any chance?
no
oh wait let me try
i thought you meant math chat
maybe I should unjoin math and then rejoin
YAY!!!
It works.
Thanks shadow. You are so smart.
Ok, so switching the top bar to OpenStudy Feedback and back did help? Or did you have to actually leave the group and then join it again?
I left the group and then join back
I have already switch sections earlier I didn't work. I had switch sections in order to post here right, shadow?
Ah, fair point :p
Ok, well, that's pretty funky, but super-super-helpful. Thanks so much for checking that stuff out. We'll see if we can snuff this bug out with that info.
Your welcome. Thanks you for os.
