Potentially a more specific subfield to label questions? In the math and physics groups, it's often difficult to tell at what level the asker's understanding is... if I'm asked a question about electromagnetism or atomic theory it's useful to know whether they're in freshman E&M or senior level quantum mechanics.
So are you talking about having "sub groups" or something else?
Not that elaborate, and I dunno how well it would even work out, but just a little thing next to a question like "Calculus II" or "Introductory Physics" would be helpful.
We've been tossing around similar ideas as a team. I'll make sure the other team members see this though. Thanks!
so it's same as tags? I remember shadowfiend rejected it
Not rejected per se, just saying we may well not implement them as such because we've already experimented in that direction. We're constantly investigating those ideas though.
Perhaps instead of tags, a user could fill out in their profile the classes they have already taken and the classes which they are presently taking. Example: Mathkid101 -- currently taking ( Algebra I, Earth Science I , 8th grade USA) Teacherperson314 -- B.S. Mathematics, M.S. Comp Sci (Specialty: Calc I & II, Java, C++) etc. This would make figuring out the level of a student a bit easier (though usually one can figure that out from context, I would think) and help teachers/tutors/question-answerers(?) better address the student at an appropriate level.
