During rain, pools of water form on a road. After the rain has stopped the water slowly evaporates. This process happens more quickly if it is warmer outside and............ what?

If it is warmer, it means that the ambient temperature (the temperature of the environment) has a higher average kinetic energy. This energy will strike the top of the puddle layer of water molecules and attempt to disrupt the surface tension. When it does that, it is transferring energy to the water complexes (water tends to be somewhat associated with each other in groups of 16 to 18 water molecules) and giving it energy to escape from the bond. This happens more often and with sufficient energy for breakage when you have molecules in the air that are hotter (moving faster, more energy). Then the molecules will escape the liquid form int he puddle and evaporate! :)

are they asking for other factors or what warmer means? i explained that warmer means particles with higher kinetic energy in the gaseous atmosphere... i think that might be what the question is referring to

yah, i think so. but on a puddle? okay.

yeah it takes away the water molecules that have already evaporated so that you can replace them with more! think of it in a lechatlier's way. if you already have many water molecules around, you are less likely to add more because it's not naturally happy like that (the system)
