Someone help me graph this function g(x)=x^2-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its basically the graph of x^2...then just shift it down by 3 units on the y-axis...in this case the vertex that was originally at (0,0) will now be at (0,-3) |dw:1323894374073:dw|

So what would be a point for the x axis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you mean the roots...if so, those are \[\pm3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well cause its asking me for direct points on the graph. So I got the vertex now I just need the other lovely numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well...i guess you could say (-3,0) and (3,0) which again, are basically just the roots
