This is a simple division problem : think about how many times 11 goes into the number -121. On a number line, -121 lies to the negative side of 0, so 11 goes into it a negative number of times. If you count along, the times table for 11 is: 11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88, 99, 110, 121 So, \[-121\div11\] = -11
