complex fraction anyone? (x^-2 - 9y^-2)/(5y-15x) help please
we're trying to simplify this?
yes, i've come up with (15y^2 - 135x^2)/(3x^2y - xy^2)
1/x2 - 9/y2 ----------- 5(y-3x)
yes, that's a start Here's the answer, I just can't manage the algebra... http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=simplify%28x%5E%28-2%29+-+9y%5E%28-2%29%29%2F%285y-15x%29
@jhonyy9 that's not it
starting with difference of squares on the top doesn't seem to work
the answer is on the link I posted jhonny just got it started for you
I already tried Wolfram but I don't understand it.
y2 -9x2 -------- x2y2 --------- 5(y-3x)
at least you have the answer, I'm trying to figure out how they got it too...
oh jhonny's onto something... let him continue
y2 -9x2 1 ------- * --------- x2y2 5(y-3x)
difference of squares and we're done, right?
(y-3x)(y+3x) 1 ----------- * ----------- x2y2 5(y-3x)
y-3x cancels and we get wolf's answer!
(y+3x) -------- 5x2y2
I hate algebra sometimes...
thats A
A
ALL
nice :)
thank you
