Solve the inequality -6r - 10 < 3r - 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you want to get all the r's on one side and all the "plain numbers" on the other side of the < sign. so -6r - 10 < 3r - 8 + 6r +6r -10 < 9r - 8 now move the 8 to the other side: +8 +8 -2 < 9r now isolate the r (variable) /9 /9 -2/9 < r

-6r-3r<-8+10 -9r<2 r>-2/9. since when an equality is divided by a negative sign,,it changes.ok?
