Please explian hyperconjuction

Sigma bonds are when the bonds repel each other like single bonds with different atoms attached. Pi bonds are overlap of bonds like double bonds. Hyperconjunction is when a sigma and pi bond overlap. so its likes having a strong, single bond with a weak second bond. You can also see this as when a structure has resonance, i.e.; C=O-C vs C-O=C both are the same exact compound, just that third bond is a weak bond shared with BOTH carbons (1.5 electrons vs 2)
