rate determining step...can someone help me bout this

sounds like chemistry to me. if you have a mechanism that takes several steps to occur the slowest step is rate determining, because it determines basically how long the entire process takes. with a real life example, we can call a mechanism like.. driving a car across a bridge. say like. the golden gate bridge. driving across the bridge will take a few minutes, but it will take forever to wait at the toll booth. the toll booth then, is the rate determining step.
