Hi! Let's call B the number of basketballs and D the number of dodgeballs. Can you write an equation that expresses the fact that the total number of balls is 43?

So, if you have B basketballs, and D dodgeballs, how could you write an equation that says there's a total of 43 balls?
b + d = 43 56b + 9d = 1656
