You flip 11 fair coins. Amazingly, the first 10 flips all comes up heads. What is the probability that the final flip will be a head too? A. 2^11 B. 0 C. 1/2 D. 1/2^11 E. 1/11
What do you think the answer is?
is it e?(:
I'll give you a hint: I flip 10 coins in the room next door, they all come up heads. But I don't tell you. Now you flip the 11th coin. What's the probability it comes up heads?
btw, e is not the answer. others: please don't give the answer yet.
You assume we know the answer
1/2?:D
well... i messed it up.
yes. it's 1/2. When you flip the coin an 11th time it doesn't "know" what happen the first 10 times, so it does what it does. And there's a 50% probability it lands heads or tails.
doesnt matter how many you flip.
hehehe i get it now :D thank youuu xD im taking a online class for alg2 cuz i failed it :(
.5
yeah.. i know what you mean. I just messed up my geography quiz online pretty bad.
