i got stuck on this question.. it's about equations of straight lines let A(4,6) and B(2,8). It is known that the centroid of triangle ABC is (a,6) for some real number a. Without finding the coordinates of C, find the equation of the median drawn from A to BC. thank you soo much!

y=6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry but how did you get the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the median passes through A and the centroid,and since both have the ordinate 6,then the equation of the line joining them is y=6
