a store purchased 3 1/5 pages to advertise but then cancelled 1 7/10. How many pages did the store use?

I'm puzzled by your question. You're saying they bought 3 (1/5) of a page and then got rid of 1 (7/10) of a page? Doesn't that mean they bought 6/10 of a page, and then canceled more than they bought? Maybe I'm interpreting the question incorrectly...

the store purchased 3 1/5 pages to advertise, bu had to cancell 1 7/10 of the pages they had purchased. how many pages of advertising did the store use?

OpenStudy (andrew314):

Oh sorry, I'm an idiot. I see what you are saying. You're answer is right. Do you want me to explain how to do it or no?

OpenStudy (andrew314):

No problem. And you aren't an idiot either.
