calculation of degrees? mind gone blank

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you say more? or give an example?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

380 footballers 212 netballers. calculate on pie chart amount of degrees for netballers?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

[212 /(380+212)]x360 =128.9 degree

OpenStudy (anonymous):

basically you want to find the proportion of netballers there are in the entire group (380+212), which gives you a fraction of the entire group. then you can determine what fraction of a circle (360 degrees) is represented by the netballers.

OpenStudy (king):

footballers is 64.19% netballers is 35.81%

OpenStudy (king):

take 64.19 as 64 and 35.81 as 36 then footballers=230.4 degrees netballers=129.6 degrees

OpenStudy (king):

this is approximate!!!but gud enough fr a piechart
