CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLZ Find A U B and explain what that number represents. Find A U B and explain what that number represents. Find A′ and B′and explain what that number represents. Which word would you use to describe the value of v in the Venn diagram: subset, union, intersection, complement, or cross multiplication product? Explain your answer in complete sentences.
we need to know what is in A and B (they should be sets of numbers or objects)
|dw:1324303212768:dw|
in the second one it is a upside U
A U b is 10
A U B is {6, 4, 1}
A U B means the union of sets A and B. so this means LIST EVERYHTING IN SETS A and SETS B.
hey moyo but we dun include intersection point
for the second one (upside down U) this means intersection. so the intersection of the two sets is WHAT IS IN BOTH OF THE SETS A and B? the answer for that one would be the 1. it's the only number in both A and B.
yes we do because 1 is in A, and also 1 is in B. so we have to include it.
coral, is that a ONE in the middle?
yes it is a one in the middle
a)11 represents the total number present in both sets b)1 represent the numbers which are not in both of these sets
you don't need to ADD the numbers. you have to LIST them in parentheses/brackets. they are objects in a set!!
A U B is {6, 4, 1}
ohhh ok thanks
A' i think means "stuff that's NOT in A" so in this case, the stuff not in A = {4} (assuming A is the circle on the left, and B is the one on the right)
B' = {6}
i don't see a V in your diagram coral...
