Company A rents copiers for a monthly charge of $200 plus 10 cents per copy. Company B rents copiers for a monthly charge of $400 plus 5 cents per copy. What is the number of copies above which Company A's charges are the higher of the two?
A: 200+10x B: 400+5x 200+10x = 400+5x (solve for X, which is the # of copies) 5x = 200 x = 40
no so answer is 41 copies as A charges should be higher than B charges........?
no not possible!
you can test it by plugging in X = 41 (higher # of copies) and you find that company A is now charging 610, while company B would only be charging 605. but at X = 40 copies, they are both charging 600!
its 10 cents not dollars!!!!
1 dollar=100 cents
you're right, so X = 4000 copies, not 4.
i mean 4000 not 40. sorry.
its 4001 copies
anything ABOVE 4000 copies would result in A charging more, so the answer is 4000, not 4001. look at exactly how the question is worded.
yeah moyo ure rite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
