OpenStudy (asnaseer):
you can attach an image by clicking the "Attach File" button below.

what did they do wrong? I can't figure it out!
OpenStudy (asnaseer):
you cannot divide by zero
OpenStudy (asnaseer):
so dividing both sides by (x-x) is not a valid operation in mathematics
OpenStudy (asnaseer):
think of 10/x and lets say x starts off as being equal to 10 and then slowly reduce its value down towards zero. what happens to the value of 10/x?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
it's divided by zero... but even though (x-x)=0, it's not exactly dividing by zero... I thought :P

it IS dividing b zero.
otherwise you could prove any relation, e.g.:\[6*0=19*0\]\[\therefore 6=19\]

mmm... I guess I see. Man, I was hoping I had found an unsolvable math problem! I guess I'll have to keep looking :)
OpenStudy (asnaseer):
:-) good luck on your quest!
