4/3+3/x+5=21/3x+15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First, get the x's on one side and the constants on another: (3/x)*-(21/3x)=15-5-(4/3) Next, find a common denominator for each side: (3/x)*(3/3)-(21/3x))=15*(15/15)-5*(15/15)-(4/3)*(5/5) =(9/3x)-(21/3x)=(225/15)-(75/15)-(20/15) Next, do addition and subtraction (-12/3x)=(130/15) Simplify each side (-4/x)=(26/3) Multiply x to one side and divide by the constant -4=x(26/3) -4*(3/26)=x (when a fraction is divided or multiplied to another side, it is flipped) x= -12/26 or -6/13

my options are 8 -8 2 or -2 thts it

OpenStudy (cornzyblack):

(4/3)+ (3/(x+5)) = 21/(3x+15) thats (4(x+5) + 3(3))/3(x+5) = (21/(3x+15)) well that is (4x + 20 + 9)/3x + 15 = 21/(3x + 15) well wecross multiply (3x + 15)(4X + 20 + 9) = 21(3X +15) DIVIDE BOTH SIDES BY (3X + 15) WE HAVE 4X + 29 = 21 4X = 21 - 29 4X = -8 X = -2
