The diameter of a circle is 2.8 yards. What is the circle's area? Use 3.14 for π and round your answer to the nearest hundredth. Please explain.

OpenStudy (wasiqss):

3.14*1.8*1.8= answer cause formula is pie *r*r

OpenStudy (anonymous):

diameter = 2.8 radius = 1.4 area of circle = pi*r^2 3.14*1.4*1.4

OpenStudy (wasiqss):

yehh sorry 1.4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your units should be "square yards"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(if they give you diameter, just remember to divide in half to get the radius, so you can plug it into the equation...)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you should have 2 numbers after the decimal point to round to the nearest hundredth.
