My teacher told my me to change my answer but I don't understand what she would like me to do. 7. Describe a real life scenario where inequalities are used and state the inequality. (2 points) In order to get your license you have to be older than 15. So, you can write this as an inequality x is that age of person who wants to drive. In this case x has to be > or ≥ to 15. Teacher's comment: Please write this inequality out. Also, is it 15 or 17?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

( What she meant by 15 or 17, is that the last 15 I accidentally put 17. :c ]

OpenStudy (lilg132):

depends where you live and if you say the person has to be OLDER than 15 then the sign should be x > 15

Thank you.

OpenStudy (lilg132):

your welcome

Help me out with another comment from her, please. 5. –2(x – 3) ≥ 5 – (x + 3) -2x + 6 ≥ 5 – 3x Teacher's Comment: When you use the distributive property, you must multiply the -1 by x and by 3. -6 -6 -2x ≥ -1 – 3x +3x +3x x ≥ -1 “x is greater than -1. The graph would have a closed circle with shading to the -1.”

OpenStudy (phi):

5 – (x + 3) is 5 -x -3 (not 5-3x) this simplifies to 2-x

I don't understand that..... :c

Oh now, I do! :DD
