Find the slope of the line that passes through the points (3, -6) and (6, 12).<- i know that slope = y=mx+b but in not sure where to plug everything in at?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Change of Y/ Change of X. So Y2-Y1/X2-X2 which is -6-12/3-6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well actually -18/3 which i simplified to six

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-18/-3 = positive 6. Not negative.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ugh so confusing my bad!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Negative over negative = positive. They cancel out. So if you have negative at bottom and top they become positive

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

yea slope = 6

thank you
