Write the slope intercept equation for the line that passes through (14,-2) and is perpendicular to 7x-10y=18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Change that equation you have from standard form to slope intercept form and you'll have the slope of that line. The slope of the line perpendicular to that is the opposite reciprocal of the answer you got. Put that slope into the equation y=mx+b along with the x and y values you have to get b. Then you'll have your equation.

So you are saying y=7/10x+ -1.4? and if this is true then my other line has a slope of 10/7?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no -10/7 OPPOSITE reciprocal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok thank you so much this really confuses me

you're welcome
