A 25kg box rests without sliding on a loading ramp at an angle of 30 degrees. What is the coefficient of friction between the box and the ramp? I know the answer is .58 but I'm not sure how to do this.

If the box is at the point of slipping, then the coefficient of friction is equal to tangen(theta)=tan(30)=0.577. However, the coefficient of friction can be > 0.577 if we only know that the box does NOT slip. In other words, the MIN coef. of friction is 0.577.
