help please!!!1.....Find the measure of angle C.... i have no clue how to do it???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The angles in all triangles add up to 180

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the angles of any triangle on a euclidean plane add up to 180

OpenStudy (amistre64):

lol ... you said all triangles ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve for x and then work out the size of angle C

OpenStudy (amistre64):

combine like terms and it becomes a no brainer to solve for x

OpenStudy (amistre64):

(8+5+7)x + (3+15+2) = 180

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what i get confused on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, not all triangles but definitely the one your looking at :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh wait let me try it

OpenStudy (amistre64):

to combine like terms is simply adding apples and oranges; or in this case, xs and constants

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 8 does that seem right?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x=8 sounds good to me, now that you know what x equals, stick it in the angles equation

OpenStudy (amistre64):

5x+15 = C 8 ------- 40+15 = C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep then i pluged 8 in and the answer is 55 degrees

OpenStudy (amistre64):

that right. they try to trick you into stopping at x=8 :)
