OpenStudy (pokemon23):

7x(x+3y)-4y(-4x-y)=(7x^2+21xy)-(16yx-4y) right so far?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Close it will be (7x^2+21xy)-(-16yx-4y^2) if you're going to get the minus outside the second bracket or (7x^2+21xy)+(16yx+4y^2) if not. You also left out the y^2

OpenStudy (pokemon23):

so what's the answer?

OpenStudy (pokemon23):

7x^2+4y^2+21xy+16yx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes you just need to add the like terms now, the 21xy+16xy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 y (-1 + 8 x + y)

OpenStudy (pokemon23):

37xy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes so the answer would be 7x^2+4y^2+37xy

OpenStudy (pokemon23):
