The contrapositive of the statement “If the angles are alternate interior angles, then the angles are congruent” is “If the angles are not congruent, then the angles are not alternate interior angles” true or false? it wud be false right because you have to make both sides not statments when you are inversing is that right?

P Q ~P ~Q P-->Q ~Q-->~P T T F F T T T F F T F F F T T F T T F F T T T T Note that the P then Q column is the same as the ~Q then ~P. Therefore if ~Q is true, then ~P must be true. Your statement begins with P=Angles are alternate angles and Q= Angles are congruent. The contrapostive then would be ~Q=Angles are not congruent and ~P=Angles are not alternate angles. That would make the answer to your question true because it states ~Q then ~P
