Jamal is a safety inspector for a family gym. Recently, guests have been complaining about the diving board saying that it is leaning towards the water. Jamal needs to know whether this diving board is standing up straight or not. Jamal measures the height of the diving board to be 12 feet. The pool is 15 feet across and he measures the diagonal from the other side of the pool to the top of the diving board to be 19 feet. Is the diving board at a 90 degree angle with the ground? Explain how you know. Diving board = © 2011 Pixland/Thinkstock Pool = © 2011 Jupiterimages/Photos.com/Thinkst

Nope, pythagorus

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12^2 + 15^2 does not equal to exactly 19 feet so it's not 90 degree

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean 19^2

i dont quite understand
