how do you start learning calculus?

OpenStudy (mr.math):

Start by understanding limits well!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Brush up on your algebra. Understand the concept of infinity. Learn the basic concept of a limit. Relearn the basic concepts of a limit. Learn it very thoroughly. Learn the basics of differentiation, from first principles. Learn integration, by substitution and by parts. And you're on your way.

do you recommend any online books to go through related to this?

Hmm I can't think of any off the top of my head. When I first started learning calculus, it was from a Year 12 (final year of highschool here) textbook. Just try Googling something to do with introductory calculus, I'm sure an abundance of such resources exists out there.
