Answer it proved that the nations who thought the United States would not last were wrong it proved that unpopular laws and actions could get a sitting President voted out of office it showed that Adams and Jefferson could still be friends even though they were bitter political enemies it demonstrated that the ideas in the U.S. Constitution were stronger than a particular party or point of view

Ahoy, so, there's a lot that could go into this. Usually for questions like this, you need to actually find a sentence in your textbook that starts "The most important result of the election of 1800 is..." - and then just regurgitate that answer. Without knowing much about it, I could probably argue for any of the above statements. However, if I had to guess I would guess the last answer because the election of 1800 was a peaceful transfer of power from the Federalists to the Democratic-Republicans, which was unique for that time.
