The British attempted to invade New Orleans, this was a major victory for the United States and one that Andrew Jackson participated in.

The battle happened after the war was already settled in England with a treaty so the outcome that was most important was it put Andrew Jackson on the map as a military hero and allowed him to be a major player in American politics and the father of the newest iteration of the Democratic party, replacing Jefferson, and shaping American politics and policy for decades.
