How do I solve log 10,000?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

log base ten I assume?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm honestly not sure, that's how it is written

OpenStudy (turingtest):

I can only assume base ten logarithms of a base n basically ask "n to what power is this number" for you the base is n=10 so the question is "10 to what power is 10,000 ?" do you know?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How many zeros in 10,000 Yes 4 is the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How odd, the answer says 2.. I thought 4 was the answer also.

OpenStudy (turingtest):

if it is log base 100 then the answer is 2 because\[100^2=10000\]so perhaps it is base 100 ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That seems right, I believe it is an error on the part of the practice test writers. Thanks!
