OpenStudy (xbeenchantedx):

how do you solve this linear equation by substitution and graphing: eq 1: y=1/2x + 4 eq 2: y= -x - 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Put arbitrary vales of x in both the equations, so that you get at least 4 to 5 values of y. Once you have the ordered pairs, you can easily plot them on a graph. For substitution, put the value of y in the other eq. solve it for x. then put it again in the same equation to get the value for y.
