What happens to the potential energy of an object when it is falls from a height?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. It is lost. B. It is converted into another form, mainly thermal energy. C. It is converted into another form, mainly kinetic energy. D. It stays in the object.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

energy is never lost. it converts to different form. So A is wrong. As it is falling , the potential energy is getting converted to kinetic energy. But once it hit the ground, it end up becoming all thermal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, so im gonna go with B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, I am kind of between b and C as it is falling --> C when it hit the ground--> B
