An isosceles triangle has a vertex angle of 80°. A base angle measures what?

50 deg each

The triangle's angles have to add up to 180º. The two base angles are congruent. If x is the measure of each base angle, 2x+80=180. Solve for x to find that x=50. So the base angles measure 50º each.
