Someone wanna help??~ http://www.math-drills.com/orderofoperations/ooo_integers_sixsteps_negative_pemdas_001.pdf ~ ITS #2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thought maybe we did this one already. step 1 is multiply the exponents together

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or just note that whatever you get it will be an even number, and so \[(-1)^{even}=1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so your only real job is \[(2\times 2)=4\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What did you get when you multiplied all of the exponents?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5*9*8=360

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do i do with 4 and 360??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So It's -1 ^360= -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4*-1=-4??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually \[(-1)^{360}=1\] since \[(-1)^{\text{even number}}=1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the answer is 4??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

am i right?
