in the right triangle , find the length of the side not given. give an exact answer and an approximation to three decimal places. a-8, h=8 what i did is 8^2 + 8^2 = 128 for c^2 which is 8 √2 but i don't know how to find the approximation

OpenStudy (mertsj):

\[c ^{2}= 128\]

OpenStudy (mertsj):

\[c=\sqrt{128}=\sqrt{64(2)}=8\sqrt{2}\]

OpenStudy (mertsj):

That is the exact answer. Now find the square root of 2 using your calculator, multiply by 8 and round to 3 decimal places and that will be the approximation

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Did you get 11.314?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you is there a way to do it without a calculator i don't have one

OpenStudy (mertsj):
