my guess is enzymes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why do you think it's enzymes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what i remember reading but i could be wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are enzymes protiens? the correct answer would actually be monosacchrides. they are a single sugar (protien) substance.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh... thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you're welcome.

OpenStudy (blues):

"Enzymes" is the correct answer. Enzymes are a very large but very special class of protein which catalyze reactions by bringing reactants into close proximity and orienting them in such a way that will favor the reaction. @ Mcguirke, you're right in that monosaccharides are simple sugars - they're a type of carbohydrate - but sugars do NOT make up proteins. Are enzymes proteins? Yes, they are indeed!
