does anyone know how to use excel

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are you trying to do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes what do u need help on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have edited a worksheet, for some reason there is a number symbol where a number should be and it is not allowing me to format it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or fix it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

want to attach it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not that i would really know what to do. i assume you have selected the cell and tried "format"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it just goes back to a # instead of 27

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which cell?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i see 27 in d -15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all the ones that have # should be a number. lets start with B7 it is suppose to be 109 and instead it is ##

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oooooooh i see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes D15 should be 27

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not in the view i have, i see the numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is probably doing that in your view because your columns are not wide enough make them wider

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok now im more confused, the file i have shows #'s and when I print it, it shows #'s

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can either select the column and hit "auto format" or "optimal width" whatever it is called or just drag the column to make it wider

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in my view i see the numbers, because somehow it is wider in my format than in yours. if the numbers don't fit in the columns you will see # or ##

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so very much i have been sitting here forever trying to figure out how to fix this thank you soooo much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did it work??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it did THANK YOU!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your quite welcome these programs get very frustrating when you see something for the first time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have never used excel it is a new class that i started yesterday
