while penicillins attack the cell wall - they do not stabilize but are specific inhibitors of synthesis.
that is the key point - not disruption but inhibition of molecular processes, whther they invovle dna synthesis - and ciprofoloxacin is an example. or protein synthesis in the ribosome - here the list is too long to count
