Can someone please explain to me how to do a Log or Natural Log

OpenStudy (ash2326):

suppose you have y= log x which means e^y=x to solve it we have to check log tables let's have x=1.23 log 1.23 yoh have to go through the table find row corresponding to 1.2 and then see under the column 0.03 you'll find the value of 1.23

you should use a calculator to do that

Right now my teacher hasn't taught us this suff yet, so if the equasion stated 4000=2000(1+(.09/1))^t how could I type that into my calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2=(1+(.09/1)^t) 1=(.09/1)^t t=log((.09/1),1)
