This is an MLA question. In all the sources I have, I can only find directions for formatting a paper to turn in to a class. I have a paper that my professor wants me to submit to an academic English lit journal -- he thinks I can get it published. I obviously need a different way to head the paper, ie, I can't do the typical first line name, second line professor, third line class, fourth line date, thing. Do I not include any such header, and just start with the centered title on the first page? It needs to be MLA, but MLA doesn't seem to be telling me how to do this.

I think in this case, your instinct is current, to do a centered title on the first page. Probably put your name below along with your professor or mentor, and the date. Good luck!!
