i somehow forgot basic algebra:o (4a-4)

OpenStudy (turingtest):

what are you trying to do with that expression?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

get the first step to solve it and kind of show how bad my memory is haha

OpenStudy (turingtest):

you can't solve an expression that doesn't have an equals sign. did you forget an = something?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no the book just shows that equation to solve for a

OpenStudy (turingtest):

Well then the book is faulty. I promise you, that is impossible here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what i thought but just wanted a second persons view on it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well you can simplify it though.... to 4(a-1) maybe thats what it wanted you to do?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

That's not really simplifying that's factoring, and he clearly said that it says solve for a, so I'm guessing not.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its for some type of quadrilateral question, that was the first part then on the other side it has 2a +30,

OpenStudy (turingtest):

I think you need to get the terminology straight if we are to help you with this. You seem confused about the wording and are probably misrepresenting it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1325721731007:dw| In the top right it has (4a-4) and bottom left (2a +30) find the value of a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh with the equations are degrees symbols representing angle measures
