Classic? You mean the default CPython that you download at http://www.python.org ? I like that (it's Python, after all) Distributions like pythonxy typically include everything included in the default distribution, along with added functionality through extra modules such as numpy (numerical computing/MATLAB clone for Python), sympy (symbolic mathematics library/CAS; solve equations algebraically), Better interpreter than IDLE, included IDE (Spyder), additional tools to help me write better Python, and much much more.
