Could a scale on a map apply for area as well as length? I mean, one scale for both?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think so....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I see, so is there a way I could compute for the area scale thing, with the scale for the length?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, I think that's possible but I'm not sure how. Others might help though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, k thanks man

For example, if you had a gridded map and let 1 square be 1km^2. With the scale of the map being 1 square is equal to 1km high by 1km wide. Is this what you mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have actually no idea
